I would
like to attend a meeting. Do I need to book a place
or arrange
this with you?
No just come along. All are welcome.
What exactly happens
at meetings?
We read out scripts that people have brought in then
offer feedback. Simple as that. Sometimes we have
several shorts and other times one feature. You may be
asked to read a part from a script but it is not
mandatory.
I have never written anything before or am just getting started.
Will I still be welcome?
Absolutely. Without people like you reading out parts
and offering feedback the sessions wouldn't work. That
said it is fine to just come along and observe.
What
are your fees?
£2 per session or £15 per year. Membership is renewed
every September so when you join you pay for however
much of the year is left, e.g. If you join in March you
pay £7.50, etc.
Where
exactly in The Watershed do you meet?
Waterside 2 or Watershed 3. Head through the bar area
then the cafe area and into the annex ahead of you.
Both rooms are off on your right. If you get lost ask at the box office.
Or follow the stream of extremely
good looking people.
How
long do sessions run?
It depends how many scripts we have to get through.
Sessions always start at 7.30 and may run until any
time from about 9.45 to 10.45. It is fine if you need
to leave early by the way. We know how bad the buses
are.
I have
a script I want read out.
That's not really a question but never mind. You need
to book a slot with Simon on 0782 515 7496. We do
sometimes get booked out quite a long way in advance so
you may need to be patient or get in there early.
Please don't just bring a script along on the night.
Do you
just handle film scripts?
Afraid so. For other types of drama you may wish to try
our good friends at SouthWest scriptwriters or Bristol
Scriptwriters (if you are thinking along the lines of
the Judean People's Front scene from The Life Of Brian
we get it).
I'm quite a forgetful person. I may not always have been this way.
Thing is I can't really remember. What I am trying to say is might
there be some ingenious way you can remind me when a session is on?
